Who We Are.
The mission of Guardiana Foundation is to provide essential services to aging adults and individuals with disabilities who are unable to perform activities of daily living. These services are provided through generous donations.
Guardiana Foundation is the commitment of two sisters who have experienced first hand the challenges of long-term disability and caregiving. The love of a caregiver makes all the difference, and we at Guardiana
Foundation, give it all with love because it is who we are.

Understanding
Aging & Disability.
National Institutes of Health
Upon turning age 65, more than half of individuals (52.3 percent) can expect some period of time when they will need help with at least two ADLs (i.e., eating, toileting, transferring, bathing, dressing, or continence) for at least 90 days.
Challenges to a person’s health can happen to anyone, at any age and at any time as a result of any number of different causes. When limitations related to a medical condition arise and begin to have a negative effect on essential life functions, such as walking, talking, seeing, hearing, or working (functions often referred to as “Activities of Daily Living” (ADLs), a person is said to have a disability.
No one is immune from the potential onset of a disability: An infant can be born with profound deafness; a child can become paralyzed from a playground injury; a young adult can develop depression and drug abuse; a woman in her early 30s can be diagnosed with multiple sclerosis; a man in midlife can develop Type II diabetes; and an older adult can lose vision because of glaucoma.
It is important to recognize that disability is not an illness. Just as health and illness exist along a continuum, so, too, does disability. Just as the same illnesses can vary in intensity from person to person, so, too, can the same condition lead to greater or lesser limitation in activity from one person to another.

How We Help.
Services from Guardiana Foundation are free of cost to aging adults and individuals with disabilities who live alone, who do not qualify for insurance or government aid, or who need help to remain independent. Services are dispensed based on current funds and inventory.
To achieve this, we rely on generous donations. If you wish to help us lighten the burdens of others in need, please keep reading to learn about our 3-ways to give model.
